The research activities conducted at the Technology Center enable the development of new and increasingly high-performance fan and industrial solutions.
The modern testing environment combines computational analyses with actual measurement results, providing in-depth insights into fan performance and supporting the development of increasingly advanced solutions. New technologies and solutions can be studied in a controlled environment before their wider implementation.
The Technology Center brings together expertise in fan technologies, acoustic and material solutions, as well as data-driven development applications.
Testing verifies performance and quality before delivery
In addition to product development, the Technology Center supports project-specific testing. Full-scale testing enables fan performance to be verified, technical risks to be reduced, and reliable operation to be ensured before the products are delivered to the customer.
Testing makes it possible to identify deviations under controlled conditions. It also generates data that can be used to evaluate the solution’s performance and suitability prior to delivery.

The First Test Run Opens a New Chapter in Testing Operations
Since the completion of the center building in spring 2026, work has focused on installing and commissioning the center’s testing and electrical systems. For the first test run, the electrical system, frequency converters and other equipment required for testing were commissioned. At the same time, the gradual commissioning of the measurement system was also initiated. The purpose of the test run was to verify the practical operation of the testing environment and its systems.
Following the successful test run, the Technology Center has now reached a stage where the first operational test runs can be carried out.
“The first test run was highly successful and confirmed that the key systems of the testing environment operate as intended. The new measurement systems and facilities provide more opportunities for studying fan performance than before. We look forward to expanding our testing activities and introducing new measurement capabilities,” says Veli-Pekka Paalanen, Product Development Engineer of Koja Industrial Solutions.
Four New Testing Facilities Expand Our Capabilities
Four new test facilities are being built at the Technology Center. The commissioning process will proceed in phases, with full testing capacity expected to be achieved by early December.
The new facilities enable fan performance to be studied more comprehensively. In the future, measurements can be expanded from performance verification to more advanced data-driven analyses covering factors such as acoustics, energy efficiency, vibration, and other characteristics related to fan operation.
The new technology also enables a safer testing environment. Personnel do not need to be physically present in the test areas during testing. Instead, an integrated camera system transmits live footage of the fan to the control room. This allows both fan operation and the data generated by the measurement systems to be monitored from the control room throughout the test process.
Commissioning progresses in stages
The first test run is an important step towards the Technology Center’s full operational capacity. Commissioning will continue through the further development of test environments and measurement systems.
The goal is for the Technology Center to support both Koja’s product development activities and the demanding testing requirements of customer projects from the beginning of next year.
As the Center’s activities expand, the facilities and the new opportunities they create will also be presented to customers and partners.
