Koja has launched the next-generation Future® S air handling unit, bringing to the market an even more complete, space-efficient, and intelligent solution for building ventilation. The latest enhancements place particular emphasis on ease of use, energy-efficient technical solutions, and streamlined design and installation.
“Our goal has been to create a solution that is as complete as possible for the customer. The new Future® S is essentially a ‘plug-and-play’ solution. Just connect it and it is ready to operate,” says Markku Eskola, Product Group Manager for Koja’s Buildings business area.
In the new unit version, the cooling and heating coils, together with the pump group, are integrated inside the unit. This reduces the need for separate components in ductwork or plant rooms, where available space is often limited.
The ready-to-operate delivery package with a clearly defined scope simplifies both design and installation while reducing uncertainties during the construction phase.
An intelligent humidity control solution is available for the rotary heat exchanger versions of the Future® S series. A sorption-coated rotor combined with humidity sensors enables efficient humidity management under varying conditions. During summer, the system can dehumidify humid outdoor air, while in winter it can recover moisture from dry outdoor air. In addition, cooling energy recovery can be utilized during the summer season.
These functions are fully integrated into the KojaControl automation system.
Future® S units will now be equipped with the new KojaControl controller, replacing the previous FxVent solution. The new automation system includes a 10-inch touchscreen display, a 4G remote connection for five years, extensive fieldbus connectivity, preconfigured trend groups, and comprehensive monitoring capabilities.
KojaControl improves system usability and provides building maintenance personnel with enhanced tools for optimization.
The next-generation Future® S units offer a wider range of rotor alternatives and greater customization possibilities than the previous model. This allows the units to meet even more demanding energy efficiency requirements, including high EN308 efficiency levels.
The performance impact of the different options has been incorporated into Koja’s Selection software, making it easier to identify the most suitable solution for each project.
Similar solutions have already been utilized in demanding projects, including a high-rise development in Central Pasila, Helsinki, where more than one hundred air handling units will be delivered. Experiences gained from the project have supported the final development and refinement of the new product generation.

The new Future® S maintains the same external dimensions as its predecessor, making the transition effortless for designers and customers. At the same time, the integrated solutions reduce the need for separate components.
Sales of the previous model will be phased out gradually during the transition period.
The next-generation Future® S will be showcased at FinnBuild 2026, taking place at the turn of September and October.
