A leading HVAC supplier can provide pleasant conditions for the entire ship. Koja Marine air conditioning systems improve energy efficiency and passenger comfort. You can trust our HVAC system design, production and commissioning throughout the ships life cycle. We control all conditions on board.
Koja’s R&D Center is a product development and testing centre with comprehensive testing methods for all of Koja’s product groups. Koja’s air handling equipment and systems are now tested in actual operating conditions. Component characteristics are already tested during the product development stage, in increasingly demanding projects.
Koja has delivered reliable and efficient fan solutions since 1935. Our reliable process fans are also energy- efficient – even in demanding processes. Nearly 50,000 fans have been delivered all over the world.
Ranta-Tampellankatu 10 – turnkey delivery is as easy as it gets
Koja has delivered a fully assembled and tested Future® 1509 air handling unit for an apartment building in Ranta-Tampella in Tampere, Finland. Located near lake Näsijärvi and completed in spring 2023, the building has 62 rental apartments.
AVOIDS ASSEMBLING A JIGSAW PUZZLE
Turnkey deliveries can make project management and logistics easier at construction sites and speed up the schedule. Instead of a conventional module delivery, Koja assembled the air handling unit on a machine frame from start to finish at its Jalasjärvi factory in Finland. Electrical and automation equipment was also installed and tested at the factory. The complete unit was delivered to the construction site and lifted as one piece into the equipment room.
Petteri Kolkkinen, the ventilation installation manager of the site’s ventilation contractor Quattroservices Tampere Oy, gave positive feedback for the method:
“Installation was much easier for us thanks to not having to assemble a jigsaw puzzle in the equipment room, so to speak. Separate modules may often be left knocking around in the equipment room for a year, exposed to job site hazards and moved around. Now the unit arrived, stayed clean and intact inside a plastic wrap, and it was not shuffled around.”
EASIER FLOOR CONSTRUCTION IN THE VENTILATION EQUIPMENT ROOM
In addition to installation, the complete unit also made other on-site work easier.
“Building the ventilation equipment room’s floor was made much easier by the unit being lifted onto load-bearing wheels before the floor had been coated. The wheels allowed the whole unit to be moved by only a few technicians. One half of the floor was coated first, and then we moved the unit onto the coated floor before coating the other half,” says Kolkkinen.
Advantages of a factory-assembled machine frame delivery:
no need to assemble machinery at the site
can be lifted whole into the ventilation equipment room
easier construction site project management and logistics, speeds up the schedule
option to install automation and electrical components at the factory for a truly ready-to-use delivery
the pump group may also be included in the delivery and dimensioned using the Future®++ dimensioning program
