Koja Ltd. Initiates Change Negotiations on Layoffs at Jalasjärvi Factory

Koja Ltd. has initiated change negotiations due to a temporary decline in the order backlog and reduced workload in the Buildings business area. The negotiations concern layoffs lasting up to 90 days and affect part of the personnel at the Jalasjärvi factory, approximately 135 employees.

Koja’s Jalasjärvi factory specializes in manufacturing air handling units and heat exchangers for buildings and ships. The order backlog for ship-related products has remained at a good level.

The 14-day change negotiations began on July 30, 2025. 

The potential layoffs discussed during the negotiations are expected to take place towards the end of 2025.

Update August 13, 2025:

The change negotiations regarding layoffs at Koja Oy’s Jalasjärvi factory concluded on August 13, 2025. As a result of the negotiations, it was determined that if the order backlog in the Buildings business area does not increase as expected, potential layoffs may be implemented during the remainder of 2025 in accordance with fluctuations in the order backlog, affecting all employee groups covered by the negotiations.
