Koja Group’s Anniversary Year Nears Its End – Together Toward 100 Years

The year 2025 has marked Koja Group’s 90th anniversary, and we have celebrated the long journey of our family-owned company in many ways. In addition to events and investments, the year has been full of action and new development steps, as well as everyday work.

A Year of Events

In spring, we organized events targeted at different stakeholders. Alongside our personnel, customers, partners, and students have been an important part of the anniversary spirit.

A new milestone was Koja Group’s first-ever Hackathon, held at the Tampere R&D Center. This innovation event for students combined metal industry and web programming, focusing on creating 3D models of sheet metal products in a browser. We also hosted a Family Day just before May Day, opening our doors to employees’ families in Jalasjärvi and Tampere. The day included tours of production and the R&D Center, May Day treats, and traditional balloons for children. In May, we revived the floorball tournament, where teams from the Group and partners competed in good spirits. The events were a success, and in 2026 we look forward to another Koja Group Hackathon and an equally energetic floorball tournament.

The year’s events culminated in Koja Group’s 90th Anniversary Gala. On September 5, TähtiAreena in Tampere was filled with celebration as nearly 800 participants gathered. The evening offered a look at the company’s history and future, greetings from owners and business areas, and unforgettable musical performances. The stage featured top artists Juha Tapio, Behm, Elastinen, and Karoliina Kallio, with Ernest Lawson as host. Thank you to everyone involved – you made the evening truly memorable.

Investments and Technology Development

During the anniversary year, we advanced significant investments to deliver even better solutions for our customers in the future. In Tampere, a world-class technology and logistics center for Koja’s Industrial Solutions business is under construction. In Tuusula, modern production and testing facilities for Chiller will be completed in early 2026. At Jalasjärvi, recent factory building investments have been complemented by major contributions to production automation. Over the past ten years, Koja Group has made substantial investments totaling €100 million in domestic production, research, and technology development.

The year has also been marked by exploring and developing new solutions together with our customers and educational institutions. Green transition technologies include the Wave Solution for buildings and OBV (Occupancy-Based Ventilation) for Marine. In industrial sector, international presence has been strengthened by opening Koja GmbH in Germany to serve German-speaking Europe.

Data and AI have taken on a bigger role in development, and we are proud to participate through Koja and Chiller in the AI Champion project, selected in 2025 as the third pilot of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment’s national data strategy. At its core is high-quality, standardized data, forming the basis for AI solutions that support new business, smoother processes, and a sustainable operating environment across the entire construction value chain.

90 Years – 90 Thoughts About Koja Group

People, our personnel in various roles, are the key success factor of the company. During the anniversary year, we published a video series “90 Thoughts About Koja Group,” giving our employees a voice. The videos share their thoughts on the company, what kind of workplace Koja Group is, and what the company might look like in the next 90 years.
